"What took you so long to answer the phone, jaylen?" I tied up my fire red 5s and parted my hair so I could do two fish tail braids. Growing up without a mother and having so much hair, I taught myself a lot.

"I dont know. Hopefully before school comes back around. I was talking to wayne about it the other day and he was like we just need to reserve a day at his studio. Or we can ask Nicki to use hers. Either or"

"True. That sounds good" I sprayed some sheen in his hair too and patted his back for him to get up. He looked me up and down.

"Man, why you always gotta match me?" He smacked his lips. This happens like every other day so I just rolled my eyes and walked out the room. We go shopping together which directs us to buying the same clothes.

When we pulled up to the movies we seen jada and jaylen in line getting tickets. I walked up to jada and grabbed her butt. She turned around swinging and I ducked.

"Shit you was finna get rocked, girl!" She said. She grabbed me and hugged me.

We let each other go and walked hand in hand into the theater.

"What do you want?" I asked. I honestly wasn't afraid of him anymore. Just want him out of my life if he's not gonna give me what i want, Which is an sincere apology.

"What are you doing out here alone?"

"Im hanging with some friends if you must know my every fucking move." I turned to walk away but he grabbed me by the hem of my jacket and pulled me back towards him.

"Joshua?! What are you doing?!" The lady tried to get him off of me.

"LET ME GO! ROLAND HELP ME!"

"DID YOU TOUCH HER?!" Roland walked up to him and shoved his shoulder. The lady that was with daddy seemed to be on her phone running back to the car.

"DID YOU PUT YOUR HANDS ON MY FUCKING SISTER?!" He shoved him once again and daddy laughed.

"Boy if you dont getcho little ass on somewhere. I wouldn't want to hurt you"

"MAN FUCK YOU! YOU'VE HURT US ENOUGH! YOU DONT PUT YOUR HANDS ON NO FEMALE MAN AND ESPECIALLY IF IT'S YOUR DAUGHTER! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!? FUCKING PUSSY! I HATE YOU I HOPE YOU DIE!" He broke down crying. He looked back at me and shooed away jada and jaylen who looked terrified.

I felt like i was slowly losing consciousness.

Roland POV

"Raygen!" Her eyes started rolling to the back of her head and she was shaking uncontrollably.

"No no no! Shit! RAYGEN! What's happening to her?!" I grabbed the back of her head and started lightly slapping her.

"GO GET SOME FUCKING HELP WHY ARE YALL JUST STANDING THERE?!" I yelled to jada and jaylen. Jada seemed to be zoned out and frozen. Jaylen was pacing the ground calling 911.

"Raygen! Please stay with me, i need you!" I sat all the way on the ground and cradled her in my arms, rocking her back and forth.

"I love you so much. Please stay. What the fuck is happening to you?" i whispered to her. Ya see, raygen is the only person i care about enough to be crying and freaking out over. Unless i grow a bond like this with someone else, you'll never see me acting like this.

I saw flashing lights but my hearing seemed to be fading in and out. I felt raygen being lifted out of my arms and onto a gurney.

"Hey little guy. You her brother?"

"Y-yeah" i said to the nurse.

"Okay great. I need you to sit with her back here and call your legal guardian. These your friends?" He pointed to jada and jaylen. I looked back at them.

"Yeah"

"Well they can follow us to the hospital. Hop in!" I hopped in the ambulance and it took off. I held raygen's hand while they hooked her up to a few machines and poked her with needles.

"What's that you're giving her man? She hates needles"

"It's an IV. She needs fluids"

"Well what the hell is wrong with her? She just started shaking and going crazy. Was it a seizure?"

"Could have been. When we get to the hospital we'll figure all of this out. Hang in there"

Ameena POV

I picked off a cupcake that mama made and plopped down on the couch in the living room. I flipped thru the channels on tv and turned it to martin. I sighed. Im so bored. I got a text from joshua that read "missing you" and i rolled my eyes. He's so full of shit.

"Hello?"

"Hello. This is doctor crenshaw at st. Johns hospital in san francisco. Is this miss ameena? Your son didn't tell us your last name." I threw the cupcake on the table and wiped my mouth.

"Yes, this is she. What's going on?"

"Your daughter got into some trouble while out with some friends and it interrupted with her health. We need you to get down here as soon as possible. We'll explain everything when you get here"

"W-what?! Oh my god, im on my way!"

I slipped on some sweatpants and called Nicki. I'll have to ride with her since my car is in the shop. She was yelling and cursing at me the whole time.

"Nicki i dont know what's going on, okay?! Stop yelling at me! Please hurry!"

Jaylen POV

Me and jada rode to the movies in different cars. I was at dad's and she was at mom's so we came in different directions. Hopping in my car and starting the ignition, somebody tapped on my window. I rolled it down.

"What are you doing here?"

"I came to see you, silly" she touched my arm.

"Why would you come down here when you know im on a fucking date, dalia?"

"Date? I dont see your bitch in the car so what's the problem?"

"Look something happened. She's at the hospital and that's where im headed. Text me later or something"

"Wait what? She's in the hospital? Is she gonna be okay?"

I let out a little laugh. "Like you really care. Move out the way"

I rolled up the window and took off.

Just like that night a few months ago..." i wiped the tear that managed to escaped.

"Who roland?! This is exactly why i didn't want yall going out tonight!" Nicki yelled.

"My bitch ass pops. The bastard she decided to have kids with" i nodded over to my mom who seemed to have this puzzled look on her face.

"What? What did he do?" She asked.

"On my life im putting his ass in jail" nicki paced.

"He tried to rape my fucking sister! Out of all the niggas in the world that could have knocked you up, you chose him! I hate both of yall!" I got up and stormed out the waiting room.

"Roland you get back here, right now!" She screamed.

"For what?! You aint care about me 17 years ago and you sure as hell dont care about me now, so why are you here?!"

"Roland you stop it right now!" She started to walk closer to me.

"Baby boy, i love you. I love you dearly. You know why i wasn't around back then. I explained that to you, haven't i? Stop being like this towards me" she came a step closer and placed her hand on my cheek. I felt a spark.

"I would die for you, roland. Do you hear me? Dont you ever raise your voice or cuss at me like that again. Understood?!" I slowly looked down at her with tears in my eyes.

Nicki POV

I started to grow impatient. I walked up to the desk.

"Hi, im onika. We've been waiting here over and hour to find out what's going on with my little sister. Raygen collins"

She looked at me and smiled, then started to type some stuff into her computer. 

"The doctor will be out in just a second to notify you about the patient"

"Kay thanks" i sighed and walked back to my seat, which was on the other side of the room from safaree's. I got out my phone and tweeted.

"Family of raygen collins?" The doctor finally approached.

"But dont worry, she'll be fine. She just needs to start drinking plenty of water and she'll need to be on bed rest here with us for about a week. Here are her discharge papers." He extended his clipboard out then had this confused look on his face.

"Uh.. which one of you are her legal guardians?"

"Well actually, none of us is. See her father ha-"

"Nicki is her legal guardian" ameena blurted out. I looked at her with one eye raised then a smile crept across my face.

"Alrighty then. I just need you to sign a few things and then you can go on back and see your little girl" i took the clipboard from his grasp and started to walk back towards my seat in the waiting room but was interrupted with a light pull on my belt loop. It was the doctor.

I looked around for safaree but he seemed to be nowhere in sight. Probably went to the vending machine or something.

"Before you get all flirty with me, doc. You should know i have a boyfriend" i giggled.

"Nope" i said popping the P. Doc walked away and i walked back to my seat starting to fill out the discharge papers. I looked around for meena and rika but they must have already went back.

I looked up at him and tried not to smile.

"Thanks" i smiled back. I started walking around the corner towards the elevator.
